Dr. Adams received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Howard University. Following undergrad he worked several years as a Chemical Engineer, before pursuing his dream of becoming a dentist. Dr. Adams received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Temple University School of Dentistry. He later furthered his training by attending a Mini Residency in Intravenous Conscious Sedation (Sleep Dentistry) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. This training allows Dr. Adams to provide treatment to dental phobic patients or patients who want the least number of dental visits. Dr. Adams joined The Family Practice and Counseling Network in 2020 as Director of Dental Services after previously serving leadership roles at another Federally Qualified Community Health center. Dr. Adams’ clinical career includes community dentistry and private practice. After several years of running his own practice, Dr. Adams returned to community dentistry to focus on serving our most underserved patient population. Dr. Adams holds a membership in the National Network of Oral Health Access and the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers. He has also held memberships in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the New Era Dental Society, and the National Dental Association. In 2010 and 2011 he was selected among America’s Top Dentists by the Consumer’s Research Council of America. His community involvement has included memberships on The North Philadelphia Head Start Health Advisory Committee, YMCA Board of Directors, The LaSalle College High School Alumni Board, The Enon Tabernacle Community Reinvestment Committee and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Bethlehem Baptist church. He resides in Ambler with his wife, Catherine, and fourteen year old son, Julian. He is an avid Track and Field fan; enjoys reading, seeing Broadway shows and traveling with his family.
