Cuong Nguyen had to make frequent trips as a child with his mother to Federally Qualified Health Centers much like the Family Practice & Counseling Network to obtain much needed medical and dental care. Inspired by the love and care he and his mother received from a dentist, he decided to pursue dentistry. While attending the University of California, San Diego, he was an avid volunteer and the Student Director of the UCSD Student-Run Free Dental Clinic. His experiences made him realized that the impact a dentist has is not solely on the teeth of the individual, but the person connected to those teeth, the family connected to that person, and the community connected to that family. He chose to attend the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health due to their commitment to public health and serving those in need. Dr. Cuong’s mission is to help people keep their teeth in proper health, comfort, function and esthetics. Most importantly to do it appropriately, taking into consideration their circumstances, objectives of treatment and temperament. He is adaptable, conscientious, and enthusiastic in providing professional oral health to children, the elderly, medically complex and disabled patients. He takes great personal satisfaction in developing a greater understanding of the people he interacts with and posses the required level of patience and sense of humor that is vital when dealing with challenging situations. He happily resides in Philadelphia and enjoys film, art, and food.
